Mobility Ion Technologies SL (MION) is a Spanish SME aiming at the development of analytical instrumentation based on its own analytical ion mobility technology which is the core of the PENTION technology. MION’s technology is mainly focused on security applications for the detection and identification of illicit and dangerous substances in many scenarios. MION has relevant experience both in the development and validation of the technology in an operational environment, both in the aviation and maritime domain. MION will provide the basis for the screener technology that is central to the project and will actively lead the technological development, as well as participate in the testing and validation tasks in all the locations. In addition, MION will coordinate the PENTION consortium, being Daoíz Zamora (MION CEO) the project coordinator who has vast experience in EU funding programs throughout his professional career.

Netherlands Police (NP) plays a crucial role by offering operational expertise, outlining needs and requirements, and assessing results from a LEA perspective (end-user). NP officers contribute to the definition of realistic scenarios, coordination and active participation in the implementation of the use cases and the implementation of training programs for personnel and security professionals, the covering legal aspects of the proposed research and the dissemination of the project results.

RIEC Limburg (RIEC), the Regional Information and Expertise Center Limburg, is a collaborative initiative in the Netherlands that brings together regional law enforcement, municipalities, and other public agencies to combat organized crime and complex criminal networks. Focusing on issues such as drug trafficking, money laundering, human trafficking, and fraud. RIEC Limburg facilitates the sharing of intelligence and resources among partners. By pooling expertise from different agencies, it enhances the capacity to address crime that crosses jurisdictional boundaries. RIEC Limburg emphasizes a multi-disciplinary approach, coordinating preventive, administrative, and criminal measures to disrupt illegal activities. RIEC Limburg association will closely collaborate with NP in the implementation of the pilots and supporting in the definition of requirements. RIEC Limburg will participate with no budget.

The Customs and Excise Department is the competent Branch of the National Tax Administration Public Entity in Spain. As such, Agencia Estatal de Administracion Tributaria (AEAT) is the National Competent Authority with State delegation to implement the National Taxation System in all the territory of the State, National or Regional Administrations and other National Public Entities, as well as Customs duties and the financial resources collected on behalf of the EU. Customs duties include the collection of the import/export taxes, the special taxes (alcohol, cigarettes, environmental etc.) and among other, the fight against smuggling, counterfeit, illicit trade, money laundry and fraud. It will take part in defining user requirements for the solution, as well as the pilot tests carried out in Spain, in collaboration with FVP and GUCI.
